Work in Progress

I am currently developing an installation anchored by a large, suspended conch shell made from pieced scrap plywood. The shell, reduced to an open skeletal spiral, hangs as both a protective form and an exposed structure. Below it, red glass beads threaded onto loose strands accumulate on the floor, suggesting both care and unraveling. A hand-sewn swimsuit made from tack cloth operates alongside these elements as a second skin, an intimate object that holds and shapes the body.

Drawing on my family’s history of craft-making, I bring inherited techniques and material sensitivities into my contemporary art practice. Through processes of stitching, threading, and assembling, the work considers memory as something constructed, fragmented, and continuously reworked over time.
